O htp "f fhft:ttt htp fhtj;ttt {lflM fhft:ttt mw htp fhft:ttt fi "ICOY 283/2002 A PROCLAMA TION TO RA TIFY THE AFRICAN CHARTER ON THE RIGHTS AND WELFARE OF THE CHILD WHEREAS, it is necessary to implement the Charter adopted by the Assembly of Heads of States and Govern- ments of the OAU at itstwenty-sixth ordinary session held in 1990; WHEREAS, it is stipulated in the Charter that the days after the reception by the Secretary-General oftheOrganization of African Unityof 15 member statesof the organization of African Unity; WHEREAS, the House of Peoples' Representatives of theFederal Democratic Republic ofEthiopia has ratified said 2002; NOW, THEREFORE, inaccordance with Article and of the Constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, it is hereby proclaimed as follows: Short Title This Proclamation may be cites as the" African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child Ratification 28312002" Ratification of the Charter The African Charter on the rights and Welfare of the Child adopted by th Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the OAU at its twenty-sixth ordinary is ratified; Powers of theMinistry of Labour and Social Affairs The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs is hereby empowered to undertake all acts necessary for the implementation of the Charter.
